Lost in translation |
Sometime it can be hard work translating some text. Sometime it also can be fun reading both the original and the translated text, as in this sample.
Let us have a look at the daily strip of 22 of Nov 1965. In the first panel of the original strip we can read:
….., she is unharmed -
The text was translated into French (from Italian) for Journal de Mickey issue 1494, and in the similar panel we can read:
…., elle est… desarmée !
The French word Desarmée is unarmed. So in the original text Narda was unharmed, in France she was unarmed!
